It’s a old area here, so we have a lot of culture and heritage to show you.
You will have plenty of souvenirs to choose from: the faïence earthenware of Moustiers as well as Verdon pottery and knives made by local craftsmen and women.
Local farmers devote themselves entirely to the production of Valensole lavender, rosé wine, tapenade (spread of crushed olives and capers), olive oil, honey and almonds…
In short, there is plenty for you to sample. Some of these items are available at our small onsite shop or, if not, we will tell you where you can buy them. One such place is at la Maison des Produits Régionaux in Allemagne-en-Provence where you will find a wide selection.
To Pass down our culture, nothing better than Museums!
In Quinson, you can visit the Musée de la Préhistoire (Prehistoric Museum), the biggest of its kind in Europe, where you are invited on a journey to explore local history.
You may also wish to visit L’Institut Giono and thumb through the exploits of Giono’s many characters. L’Ecomusée museum in Volx is both interesting and well-presented. You can also be interested by the cosmetic L’Occitane, who organise some free visits of its Manosque Factory, on registration.
